For the last 2 years, I’ve started to get a lot of couples asking for all white flowers for their wedding! I do have to say, I have a soft spot in my heart for all white weddings. Something about it is so classic, and in my eyes it never goes out of style. However, some of my brides love color as well! So some of my brides opted to have an all white ceremony and save the color for their reception.
I just love the gorgeous white hydrangea that covers this pergola at Ponte Winery from Annie & Kevin’s wedding. For that extra detail, we had long dripping crystals strung from the pergola as well. The beautiful florals were by Suzan M Florals and the beautiful picture captured by Zelo Photography
What can I say, planning is in my blood and when my birthday (number not disclosed) was coming up I decided to plan a gorgeous night of celebration for my closest friends. My goal for the night is to bring my closest friends both old and new all together in one place. We tend to have friends from different times in our lives and the thought of having everyone come together is the best gift a girl can ask for.
I went with a Moroccan theme because I felt that it went so well with Santaluz and goes well with the Fall season. The colors I chose for the party was jewel tones. There is something so romantic and mysterious about the shades of purple, blues, and fuschia!
The AMAZING photos were captured by my very good friend and extremely talented photographer: Braja Mandala Photography!
The party took place outdoors in the courtyard, so when guests arrived, the sun was starting to go down and they were greeted with a mixture of gorgeous Moroccan lanterns strung from the trellis at the entrance. Up on the hill it can get chilly at night so I had jewel tone padshminas available in case some of the ladies got cold.
I decided also to add a fun element and as favors gave away colorful bangle bracelets that were adorned on a large manzanita branch in case any of the ladies were in the mood to do some belly dancing!
Even though it was a “dress to impress” type of party, I wanted it to have a very casual and relaxing atmosphere. Instead of having formal tables, I decided to go with a lounge type of atmosphere. I had lounge furniture and pillows scattered around the courtyard to create the warm and welcoming ambiance
Me with my handsome husband. He is probably the kindest person I have ever met. I am so lucky to have found him.
The other Fabulous Men in my life! My bff Thomas Bui and Bob Stevens. I am so grateful to have them in my life.
The fabulous Elizabeth (who is the catering manager at Santaluz) and my bestie Thomas
One of my favorite shots of the party! Lighting is so important and is most often forgotten about!. I just love this shot with the candles, fireplace and the string lighting. It is so romantic!
I love the uplighting behind the tree and my gorgeous birthday cake!
It was such a relaxing and wonderful night thanks to all of my friends. I just wanted to send special shout outs to my amazing friends that helped me put everything together. I definitely could not have done it without them!
I have to admit that working in the wedding industry does have some major perks! And once in a while, I get to attend such a fabulous party that it takes my breath away! The other week, I had the opportunity to go to The Langham Huntington in Pasadena, California for a Royal Tea Party Hosted by Eddie Zaratsian, owner of celebrity florists Tic Toc Couture Florals. The details and decor at the party was gorgeous! It was a vintage french provence inspired theme with so many amazing furniture and details yet it looked so comfortable and welcoming. The textures consists of linen, burlap combined with the colors of white, honeysuckle and coral. The colors of the florals and the designs were so unique and gorgeous. I was definitely spoiled and enjoyed having high tea and soaking in the decor. There was live entertainment, an amazing photobooth, a buffet de fleurs, and dessert so beautiful I felt guilty eating them!
I owe this experience, all to my fabulous friend Thomas Bui who was the one that brought me as his guest to this event. Once in a while you meet someone, and instantly you just know that you will end up being good friends. Thomas and I met and just clicked right away. He is one of the sweetest and most generous people I know. Let’s just say, “He had me at hello!”
Here is a picture of Thomas and I in the photobooth!
The Buffet De Fleurs is such a unique concept, and I think would be so much fun either for a wedding or even a bridal shower! Tic Toc Couture Florals had their artists create custom hair pieces out of flowers that match the guests outfits. How cute would this be??
I love doing bridal shows. It gives me an opportunity to meet and talk to so many blissful brides and the opportunity for them to meet me to see if we may be a good match for each other. With wedding planners, so much of it has to do with personalities that mesh with each other, like chemistry. So if we had the opportunity to meet and chat and you would like to continue the conversation in detail, please contact me at info@lechicweddingconsulting.com
I did a bridal show yesterday at The Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. My inspiration for the design consists of my favorite styles. I love blending the old with the new, the masculine with the feminine, the modern and the romantic. In my design, I decided to got with a modern lucite table and chairs. I love that the table and chairs look very simple, clean, and refreshing. The florals consists of blush colors, with blush pinks, whites, and touches of yellow bringing in the Spring season. The centerpiece sat on top of a tall real crystal candelabra that is absolutely breathtaking. The crystal mimics the look of the lucite table. On top we had the a real crystal chandelier hanging from the chuppah that has a floral arrangement as well. From the chandelier the florals draped down, with tulips swayed to the centerpiece and crystals hanging out from them. Talk about gorgeous!! On the table design, I had one champagne shantung runner across the table and two glass chargers to mirror the table and the candelabra. The subtle touches are the pearl beading around the chargers that adds that romantic touch. The napkins are also the champagne shantung and for the menus, I used doilies to add a little bit of the more organic and a soft touch to it. I hope you enjoy the design =)
Special Thanks To:

Thank you everyone for helping me, it means the absolute world to me!
“You Make My Heart Flutter” that is always what I imagine going on in Patty and Alfonso’s mind when they look at each other. That’s why the butterfly theme for this wedding was perfect for them. When Patty showed me the sample of their invitations designed by Momental Designs, my imagination took off from there. We used the theme from their wedding and designed a wedding consisting of ivory, gold, champagne, and blush pinks and incorporated butterflies throughout. It turned out so beautiful and absolutely romantic!
The ceremony and the reception took place at the University Club Atop Symphony Towers (this is a beautiful penthouse high rise in San Diego). With the help of the beautiful floral design by Blush Botanicals we lined the alter with staggering lanterns and pomanders down both sides. At the end of the alter, the Blush Botanical girls had two large sandblasted manzanita trees strung with beautiful white hydrangeas, orchids, and butterflies. Behind the alter Le Chic Wedding Consulting strung white butterflies in between the trees to create a beautiful backdrop.
After the ceremony guests were invited into the lobby and they were greeted with the butterfly escort cards that were set in moss. The blush botanical girls did an amazing job decorating the table and the floral arrangement on the bird cage.
In the ballroom, the room was transformed from the ceremony site into the dining room. We kept the butterflies and the manzanita trees in the same spot and set the sweetheart table in front so that the couple had the beautiful backdrop behind them. The champagne linens by Concepts Event Designs made such an impact; it warmed up the whole entire room and added a lot of texture to the tablescape. The beautiful arrangements were adorned with strings of crystals, butterflies, and light gold branches. Every table name was of a city in Italy where the couple went on their honeymoon after the wedding. We also added amber up lighting to warm up the room as well.
I was so ecstatic that I was invited to The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe’s Retreat with the best vendors in the industry! Even though we love to plan, we love to party as well! It was a wonderful time and the team at The INN treated us like royalty. The ambiance during dinner in the outdoor courtyard was so romantic. There was string lighting everywhere and the beautiful centerpieces were done by Sharon and her team at Organic Elements. The flowers were so beautiful! The colors were blush pinks and champagne and gold. The beautiful linens and chiavari chairs were provided by Concepts Event Designs. After dinner we were invited into the ballroom that was completely transformed by Concepts Event Design. The walls were completely draped in white and had crystal accents hanging from them. The room was lit up by blue uplighting and the amazing white dance floor covered the room. Surrounding the dance floor was different style lounge furniture so that guests can take a break from dancing and mingle. And Mingle we did! We were dancing the night away with Tim Altbaum Productions Entertainment providing the music! When we took a break we headed over to the photo station wall provided by Concepts Event Design. Enjoy the gorgeous photos by Emilio Azevedo Wedding Photographer!
And a HUGE THANK YOU FROM LE CHIC WEDDING CONSULTING TO THE AMAZING TEAM AT THE INN FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL TIME!
Pantone colors is the universal language of colors! Today they announced that the new hot color for 2011 is Honeysuckle! It’s a beautiful and romantic color that can go a variety of different directions. You can do a beach chic theme with it and pair with with whites and linen, or have it be romantic and more formal by accenting it with light gold.
Here is what Pantone has to say about the new hot color!

A Color for All Seasons Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.
While the 2010 color of the year, PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.
“In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother color red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.”
Eiseman continues, “The intensity of this festive reddish pink allures and engages. In fact, this color, not the sweet fragrance of the flower blossoms for which it was named, is what attracts hummingbirds to nectar. Honeysuckle may also bring a wave of nostalgia for its associated delicious scent reminiscent of the carefree days of spring and summer.”
Honeysuckle is guaranteed to produce a healthy glow when worn by both men and women. It’s a striking, eye-catching hue that works well for day and night in women’s apparel, accessories and cosmetics, and in men’s ties, shirts and sportswear. Add a lively flair to interior spaces with Honeysuckle patterned pillows, bedspreads, small appliances and tabletop accessories. Looking for an inexpensive way to perk up your home? Paint a wall in Honeysuckle for a dynamic burst of energy in the family room, kitchen or hallway.
Ever since I was a little girl, I would always wonder, “Somewhere out there is a guy out there that holds the key to my heart” and I would wonder what he would be doing! I know I’m such a romantic at heart. When I met my husband, who is 10 years older than me, we would joke about how when I was playing hopscotch, he was already driving around picking up girls! It’s so amazing how life works. Some days I just like to sit around and think about how everything in my life fell into place, how the universe works with the people we meet, the friendships we make, the person that we end up marrying. Okay well I will get to the tablescape already!
I came up with the theme “Key to My Heart” for San Diego Style Weddings Magazine because I thought it was just so romantic. I went with a vintage parisian garden theme. I’m sure you have noticed how Burlap is just SO-IN right now. I have this exact tablecloth on my dining room table right now! A lot of the trinkets that you see are real antique items from the personal collection of Whimsy Florals. I always tell my clients that want an “vintage” theme to scour their parents and grandparents basement or garage and I be they will find so many hidden treasures. (That’s what I did at the florist’s home!) Also, don’t forget to hit up swap meets and antique stores! It’s all the little trinkets that add such charm to a table design. You don’t have to do it for every table, just focus on different areas and vamp them up and you’ll have your guests swooning away.
In case you haven’t heard, we have been a little busy lately and just launched our boutique! Le Chic Wedding Boutique! It has so many accessories that you can use to add the details and make your wedding stand out. And for my readers out there, you can save 10% this month!
Patty & Alfonso are one of my adorable couples that are getting married in December. I’m one of those hopeless romantics that believe in fate, and this couple were just meant to be. We had so much fun designing her wedding. Her wedding theme is butterflies and though I can’t give away all the details, let’s just say, it’s going to be fabulous! We have to thank Kristy Rice of Momental Designs for that! After Patty, sent me the pictures to her beautiful invites, I knew her style right away. We designed all the details to the wedding with her invitation as our inspiration. I just had to share these amazing invites!
I am absolutely in love with Kristy’s work! They specialize in custom hand-painted invitations!
