I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Megan & Ryan for a year on planning their destination wedding! They are currently in San Diego, but all their family and friends were from out of town. What a treat they had in store for them! Their wedding was on a beautiful yacht, the California Spirit of San Diego Harbor Excursion. All the guests and wedding party were picked up from the dock at the Sheraton Hotel & Marina where everyone was staying. The weather was absolutely beautiful! For their wedding, we went with a very clean Nautical Chic design. It was a beautiful wedding with a enduring ceremony officiated by the groom’s stepfather. Please enjoy the photos of the beautiful bride & groom courtesy of Flavio Photography! Congratulations to Megan & Ryan!

Blake & Josh is from Texas, and lucky for me they decided that they wanted to have a destination wedding in San Diego! All of their families and friends were out of town and the most important priority for the couple was to make sure that the guests get to experience San Diego and second for them to have an amazing band to entertain their guests! I couldn’t think of a more perfect ceremony location than at the Seagrove Park in Del Mar, California. I live on miles away, and this spot still takes my breath away every time. I still remember when Blake & Josh came out to San Diego so we could go venue scouting together, (I saved Seagrove Park for last) Blake’s eyes twinkled and she was absolutely speechless. They stood there and enjoyed the breathtaking ocean view! That was when I knew I had hit the right spot! We held the reception at The La Jolla Woman’s Club which is this beautiful historic building with a stage. The garden at the club was so beautiful and inviting. On the stage, Wayne Foster Entertainment rocked the house for 4 1/2 hours straight! They are known not only for their amazing performances but their continuous play! All the guests danced all night long! The bride and groom left blissfully happy and I can say our mission was accomplished!

How crazy beautiful is Blake?

Remi and Brett had their beautiful wedding at Paradise Point Resort & Spa. This place is the essence of destination wedding and San Diego, even if you live here! It’s true what they say about 6 degrees of separation. Remi had met me at a bridal show, then come to find out she is the real estate agent for one of my best friends! Sometimes the stars just align that way, and for that I am so grateful to take part in their special day. They are absolute sweethearts. Remi took my breath away when I saw her in her gorgeous Vera Wang dress that she got from Bliss Brides, in Del Mar. (Love the ladies there!) The beautiful flowers are by the ladies of Blush Botanicals. I am still loving the white wedding palette. I don’t think it could ever go out of style. The gorgeous pictures are courtesy of Melissa & Mandi of Melissa McClure Photography.

I love this shot that Melissa McClure Photography got of me of Remi & Brett’s beautiful wedding at Paradise Point. This is always my favorite moment of the wedding. Before this serene moment, it’s always hectic behind the scenes for us. As San Diego’s Premier Wedding Planners we are running around making sure everything is set up to perfection, assisting all the vendors, and ensuring everything is done to the bride and groom’s desire. But everything stops and there is that magical moment when the bride walks down the aisle and everyone’s heart stops and all eyes on her. That’s gratification for me.

Last week I visited my good friend Jennifer Gregorak who is the catering manager at The Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa. Jennifer is an adorable little ball of energy! She is always such a blast to work with and she happens to work at one of my favorite venues for destination weddings in San Diego. The Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa makes me want to have a staycation! It underwent a remodel that made this hotel very beach chic. The property is right in front of San Diego’s famous Mission Bay and has many different spots for both the ceremony and reception. My favorite are the outdoor spaces. For the ceremony they have a beautiful grassy lawn in front of the bay with two huge palm trees that make the perfect alter. The nice part is you also have the option to have a sand ceremony in front of the water which can be hard to find in San Diego. For the reception they have two ballrooms, and (my favorite) a large outdoor space under this beautiful tree and a waterfall pond. It’s gorgeous! The food here is delicious and the best part is you can turn it into a vacation for you and your guests. There are so many water activities (including the Hilton’s beautiful pool and cabanas) or sailing and kayaking in the bay. The spa here is also pretty fabulous! When we did the tour, I could of stayed in the relaxation room for a while! The hotel also has many room options and a swanky presidential suite! It’s also very close (walking distance) to Seaworld and very close to the airport. All in all, this place does a wonderful job mixing swanky with laid back chic… a perfect place to have your San Diego Destination Wedding!

Nothing says San Diego better than sun, water, and gorgeous weather and that’s exactly what Angie and Jerry Gonzales had for their beautiful wedding at the Dana in Mission Bay on September 18th, 2010. There were so many unique details that really made their day stand out and memorable. Their ceremony took place on the greenery of the Sunset Lawn at the Dana, which had a jaw dropping backdrop filled with tall palm trees and sailboats gently meandering the calm waters.

To add a bit of their own culture and tradition at the ceremony the couple had a mariachi band dressed to the nines to sing “Ave Maria”, the same mariachi that sang at Angie’s parents wedding.

To finish off the ceremony the newly weds rode off into the sunset on their beach cruisers to take some really cute pictures before the cocktail hour courtesy of ABM Photography. At the cocktail hour the mariachi band continued to play while guests mingled and signed the guest book before entering the Dana Mission Bay Ballroom.

The ambiance inside was warm and inviting, there was a very fun candy bar that was lined with turquoise ribbons and deep red florals to match the centerpieces and sweetheart table designed by Blush Botanicals. To incorporate those personal and memorable touches, the couple decided to put out mexican candy in jars at alternating heights. It was a fun little addition that were super tasty! The amber up lighting, provided by Le Chic Wedding Consulting, and special chiavari chairs from Platinum Party Rentals, are always great ways to add that little touch of elegance and makes every picture very special.

One of my favorite things that Angie and Jerry did was to bring in props for the dance party portion of the reception. I was quite popular while walking around handing out party beads, ginormous colorful sunglasses, 80′s sunglasses, clown noses and bling bling for all the guests to wear while they danced the night away. Those props were such a fun way to get everyone involved and dancing.

We are so happy that our couple Vikki & JP were picked to have a featured wedding in San Diego Style Weddings Magazine! Their wedding was THE California Chic wedding. With the beautiful oceans and beautiful weather, it makes San Diego THE place to have your destination wedding! Vikki & JP’s love for the ocean made them decide to have their destination wedding at Tower 23 which is a amazing modern chic hotel right on the board walk of Pacific Beach. Wedding planning is such an intimate occupation. It’s so hard not to get close to the couples that I work with, and Gina and Deep hold such a special place in my heart! They are just so cool and down to earth. They had a destination wedding in San Diego with all of their closest friends and family and entrusted me on all the details. It’s just the biggest honor! They had their wedding at the beautiful Santa Luz Club, where the staff and the team always give the most impeccable service. When I saw these teasers from the talented Flavio Scorsato of Flavio Scorsato Photography, it made me miss them so much! Flavio did an amazing job at capturing their personalities. I can’t wait to share all the details but for now enjoy the beautiful bride & groom!

I absolutely love this picture!

Remi & Brett are an adorable laid back couple and they happen to be my 10/10/10 couple! We had so much fun helping them with their wedding. When I saw Remi in her Vera Wang dress, I was swooned! (She got it at one of my favorite bridal salons, Bliss Brides in Del Mar) Brett & Remi tied the knot at the ultimate destination wedding location for San Diego, Paradise Point Resort. The floral designs are of the talented girls at Blush Botanicals. And of course the amazing pics from Melissa & Mandi of Melissa McClure Photography.
Here are some teasers just to get the party started!

I thought this was hilarious when I saw it! It’s so crazy!! Get married in a McDonald’s?? Well some couples want to, that’s why McDonald’s has started offering weddings at their location in Hong Kong. It’s definitely a novelty and very non-traditional. Can you imagine being a guest and asking, can you please supersize my fries?
Enjoy this article on CNN International:
Would you like a wife with that? McDonald’s offers weddings
Hong Kong becomes the first place in the world to have McDonald’s wedding packages
By Tiffany Lam 12 October, 2010
Toast your nuptials with soft drinks at McDonald’s Hong Kong.
We can’t think of a better way to throw traditional wedding protocol out the window than to host it at McDonald’s.
Hong Kong will be the first city in the world to roll out McDonald’s nuptial packages for couples starting January 1 next year.
The package has all the details to attract a wedding banquet cynic or a Golden Arches obsessive: a baked apple pie wedding cake, dress made out of party balloons, kiddie party favors for guests, and of course, catering by McDonald’s.
Alcohol is banned to make sure there won’t be drunk party guests acting inappropriately at the family venue, so newly weds will have to toast their union with soft drinks instead.
The cost will be a few thousand Hong Kong dollars, depending on what guests order on the spot. It’s unlikely that the couple will be able to book the entire restaurant for their wedding, but at that price, who cares if there are babies screaming in the booth next doors?
The idea came about when one couple who met and dated at McDonald’s held their wedding party at the Admiralty branch this year, according to McDonald’s Hong Kong director of corporate communications and relations Helen Cheung.
Cheung tells the South China Morning Post that the chain has been getting 10 calls a month from people who wanted to throw their wedding bash at McDonald’s joints.
McDonald’s Hong Kong will also be accepting bookings for engagement parties and wedding anniversary parties starting today.
McDonald’s nuptial parties are only available at their Admiralty, Mei Foo and Smithfield branches for the time being, but the management will consider other venues if feedback is enthusiastic.
