I just absolutely adore Hannah & Brennan! They are high school sweethearts and are just so sweet together! They did their engagement pictures at Lake Hodges in Escondido and the pictures were beautifully captured by a husband and wife team We Heart Photography. Jacob & Christin did such a wonderful job capturing the love between the two lovebirds. These pictures are just teasers so I can’t wait to see all the pictures when they are ready. Hannah & Brennan’s wedding will be my first wedding of 2013 and I’ve been having so much fun working with them and getting to know them and their families. The fun is just starting to begin, we are working on our floral appointments next (fun!) They will be getting married at one of my favorite venues, The Santaluz Club!
David & Stephanie tied the knot last month at one of my favorite resorts in San Diego, The Grand Del Mar. It was a gorgeous wedding of gold hues, aubergine, ivory, with a touch of dark wood elements. David & Stephanie wrote their own vows, and they are probably one of the best vows I’ve ever heard. I can’t wait to see the pictures from the wedding by Megan & Brent of Studio Castillero!
I just realized I hadn’t had the chance to blog their engagement pictures! Here are my two favorites from Studio Castillero.
I was so excited when Truc asked me to style her engagement shoot! She is so sweet and gorgeous so I knew we were going to have so much fun! She loves the soft romantic look so I decided to mimic the theme of her wedding which is Cherry Blossom inspired! We are so fortunate in San Diego, to have so many amazing places to take pictures. So the first place I picked for Truc & Chris was Balboa Park, but specifically the Japanese Friendship Garden. With some props and signs from my private collection and custom made monograms ( Made by me =) ) The pictures turned out absolutely adorable! Right after, we headed over to the new hottest restaurant in Del Mar, Burlap by Brian Malarkey! I came up with the idea because I just love the eccentric decor with that Asian flair!
The beautiful pictures were captured by my dear friends Gene Higa Photography & Braja Mandala of Mandala Weddings! All 5 of us had a blast, and in my world there is no such thing as all work & no play. So after, the pictures were done, we all dined there and enjoyed some fun drinks!
2012 has certainly start off the year with a bang! Everyone definitely has high hopes for this year, especially being the Year of the Dragon and all =) All I can say, is that I am so grateful for all the amazing weddings that are in the works this year! Just thinking about it gets me excited! The vendors that I work with tell me that I have some of the sweetest and coolest (and gorgeous) brides & grooms! They are also pretty darn smart! My couples truly inspire me!
I’ve got some pretty amazing engagement pictures back for some of my 2012 couples. Instead of blogging them separately, I figure it’ll be fun to feature a couple of my favorite pictures of them all in one post. Here are some of my couples for 2012!
To my soon to be grooms {or brides you can secretly get this in the hands of your honey}:
I’m sure it’s on your mind, especially this time of year. Asking someone to marry you will probably be the most nerve racking thing you’ll ever do. It’s also the most exciting time, and we know you want it to be perfect! Take her by surprise by contacting us to help you plan your perfect marriage proposal. With our expertise and knowledge of all the fun and unique places in San Diego, we’ll ensure sure she says YES! The growing trend is to have photographers and videographers document the “scene” that we have carefully designed and coordinated so that you can both watch it and see the pictures after. A lot of times it’s such a whirl wind moment, that neither one of you will remember what’s going on.
Let us and our team help set the stage for the first step towards saying “I DO”
Megan & Scott are one of my couples that are getting married in September 2012. I absolutely adore them! When Megan asked me to be her stylist and designer for the engagement shoot, I was beyond excited! I knew I wanted something very special and unique for them. The idea of Persimmons came to mind because of the gorgeous hue of orange that it has. I was so lucky to find this gem of an orchard on a private farm in Fallbrook. From there, I came up with the color palette of orange, greys, and a touch of blue for Scott. =) On our shopping trip, I found the gorgeous orange and grey dress! It caught my attention from the corner of my eyes. It was perfect. I wanted to focus primarily on the background because it was so beautiful but I’m a big believer of details so we added some fun props (some I crafted) that you’ll see in the pictures.

Darleen & Joe will be my last couple for this year! *Sniff Sniff They are just absolute sweethearts. We did full service wedding planning & design for this couple and I am so excited to see all the details come together. As I start to gather all the information together for their swanky wedding on the 30th floor at the University Club Atop Symphony Towers, I wanted to go ahead and share their cool urban downtown San Diego engagement pictures!
I am beyond ecstatic for Ashley & Matt’s wedding this weekend at the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn! It’s going to be a timeless and elegant wedding, but we are going to add some fun baseball elements since baseball is very near and dear to Ashely & Matt’s heart! Ashley’s dad is “The Coach” (he hosts a sports radio show for the Padres) so of course they had the hook up to reserve the entire Petco Park Stadium for the engagement shoot! After, they went over to Sunset Cliffs to take some more romantic pictures!
Ashley is an absolute sweetheart and I am so excited to be a part of hers & Matt’s special day!
I came across this video via facebook and it was so sweet that I just had to share it on my blog. I’m sure you guys have noticed that “flash mobs” has become the latest trend lately. And I have to say, I love it! I’m a huge fan of musicals, and one of my favorite musicals is Jersey Boys. My husband and I saw it when we were in New York City celebrating our first year anniversary. So when I saw this video and saw the song they were dancing to was “Your Just Too Good To Be True” by Frankie Valli it melted my heart. I am loving this trend right now, and hope it sticks around for a while. Maybe one day I’ll have enough courage to be a part of a flash mob!
Although I don’t know the couple personally, I think this proposal was brilliant and wish them all the best on their wedding planning!
I was so lucky to have met Annie & Julius! We completely connected and our conversations always end up talking about food! We are all such foodies! This adorable couple was so much fun to work with! I can’t wait until their wedding day! We wanted to incorporate Julius’s love for his previous hometown in Hawaii yet have the wedding be a black tie affair. I was thrilled that they loved my inspiration board. It’s going to be Tropical Glamour!
