Hi Everyone!
First off! I’m so sorry for being behind on blogging =) It’s been a busy month, but that’s a good thing! The beginning of this month, I had the wonderful opportunity to be an exhibitor at the US Grant in downtown San Diego. If you haven’t been there, you need to go. It is absolutely the epitome of ultra chic luxury! Once a year they host one of the most amazing bridal show that I have ever participated in. When I started the design process I wanted to show my style and somehow my personality into the design. I love designing so many different styles, because when I work with a couple, I focus the design on my couple’s style & personality. After all, it’s the most memorable moment in their life! I know it’s cliche but it’s true, from that day of celebration is how their story begins.
I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Kathy Wright & Co (the amazing Kathy herself) in figuring where to start. I told her I loved the twilight wedding, I loved all the dangling white florals outside in the woods! She showed me an amazing custom table runner from Wildflower Linens that I just fell in love with. From the fabric inspiration we pretty much designed everything around that. I love fabrics that are highly textured (as you can tell this runner was). I have some chandeliers that I use for weddings, and I wrapped it in this natural bark with white damask paper to go with the fabric. I rented the wood table and bench from Pow Wow Vintage Rentals, they were the perfect size and super cute! I wanted the space to stand out and be cozy so I rented 4 large real ficus trees to surround the wood chuppah and I had them covered in twinkle lights (I love it! It reminds me of fireflies). The icing on the cake was the gorgeous menus & table sign designed and made by the lovely Jennifer of J.Grace Luxurious Event Stationary. They were so gorgeous, everyone that showed up had to touch and feel them! One of my favorite parts is the large calligraphy chalkboard! I made the chalkboard myself (first attempt!) and Jessica of Moira Ink calligraphy it for me. Isn’t she amazing? Okay, I’m sure you are tired of my rambling! Here are the professional pictures from the amazing Gene Higa Photography & Braja Mandala of Mandala Weddings!
P.S. The flowers by Kathy Wright was so beautiful, when her team put everything on the table I seriously teared up (I know, silly huh?) but seriously if those petals could talk…

Ashley & Matt are just the sweetest couple! They got married at the Rancho Bernardo Inn which is a gorgeous garden venue in San Diego. It is pretty well hidden, so I would say it’s a bit of a hidden gem but it’s a large property with beautiful green garden grounds (perfect for pictures) Ashley wanted a gorgeous formal garden wedding with an old hollywood flair by using black, white, and red for her wedding colors. They are also huge sport fanatics so we had to throw in some fun baseball touches in there!
The gorgeous florals are by Blush Botanicals and HUGE thank you to Bethann Greenberg for the gorgeous photos!

I love floral sculpture monograms!

Adorable Monogram made with flowers of the Bride & Groom's initial
The red & white bride’s bouquet is adorned with some *sparkly by having a large brooch on the stem

In keeping with the garden theme, we wanted to keep the wood elements by using the dark wood manzanita branches. We incorporated the baseball theme by having the escort cards look like baseball tickets. We had them placed on a bunch of peanuts and in one of our gorgeous wooden trays. You can’t go to a baseball game without some peanuts!

Bethann Greenberg did such a beautiful job capturing the entire room. I love this picture because it really captured the ambiance of the wedding! It’s so romantic!

Baseball Players as Names of Tables
Ashley & Matt had the traditional head table for their wedding. A money saving tip is we reused the red pomanders from the ceremony for the head table and also all the bride & bridesmaid bouquets. I helped Ashley pick out the adorable “stone” vases to hold them. It brings in the bit of earthy garden feel.

When I was designing the wedding for Annie & Julius, I wanted to design it with both of their styles in mind. Annie wanted a very elegant and formal wedding. So I came up with the them of Tropical Glamour to bring in some of Julius style as well since he used to live in Hawaii. We decided to infuse natural elements such as dark rattan and dark wood with the romance of crystals, and mercury candles with an array of shades of purple florals.

I love this picture of Annie getting ready! That’s me in the corner reviewing the timeline =) Annie is also wearing one of our Justine M Couture hair flowers. Click here to buy the Catherine Flowers that Annie is wearing. (It comes in a set of two) Hair by the amazing Julie Wright of Bouffant Hair

Their ceremony was held at USD Founder’s Chapel which I think is so gorgeous and charming!

Stephanie & Bobbie’s Wedding at The Crossings in Carlsbad, California:
I met Stephanie and her mom at The Grand Del Mar bridal show a couple of years ago. It is hard to believe that it’s been that long. But when we met in my office, I just absolutely adored them. I had the privilidge with working with Stephanie, her mom, and Bobby for about a year and a half and just fell in love with these high school sweethearts. They went to high school right across the street from my house and told me stories about how they met in the marching band. Even know, when ever it’s that time of year and I hear the marching bands practicing, it reminds me of them. When they were looking for a venue to get married in San Diego, they wanted a place that reflected San Diego. They loved traveling and discovering California, so when they came to see The Crossings they just fell in love with it. The venue is located up on a hill in Carlsbad, and had a ballroom that was completely open with all windows for guests to see the amazing views of the mountains and the ocean. The lawn where the ceremony took place had a breathtaking view.
I am so grateful to be in the wedding industry and get the opportunity to be a part of so many families. This wedding was so special to me and will always hold a special place in my heart.

Annie & Kevin’s wedding took place at the beautiful Ponte Winery. I absolutely love vineyards so it was such a treat being able to be a part of their wedding day. What was even more fun is that Annie is Vietnamese and Kevin is part Chinese so wanted to make sure we incorporated some of their heritage into the wedding. They were able to have the tea ceremony in the morning, and Annie changed into her Vietnamese dress for the meet & greet and for cake cutting. We designed the wedding for the couple and it turned out so romantic. We went with the wedding colors as the grey hues with different shades of lavender and pinks. We decided that for the ceremony, we wanted to keep it chic by having the ceremony flowers be all white across the pergola . We also had strings of crystals in varying heights strung from the pergola. Out in Temecula, in August and can get hot so we made sure we had enough white parasols for all the guests to get some shade. I loved how the parasols turned out in the pictures. My favorite part of the decor are the different shades of purple and pink paper lanterns that were strung above the dancefloor. It made such a huge impact in the overall decor of the room. It was so romantic!

I love videos! Having a videographer for your wedding should be looked at differently than photography. I would never recommend to a client to get a videographer instead of a photographer. They are two completely different services and they serve a different purpose. Even as a wedding planner, when I see the videos of my client’s weddings, it just moves me and brings me back to their wedding day. Can you imagine how the couple would feel? I love this video highlight of Blake & Josh’s destination wedding to Del Mar & La Jolla by Everlasting Video! I love how you can hear their voices, see the moving ocean at Seagrove Park (one of my favorite spots in San Diego) and just witness the emotion.
Thank you Tuan & Tina of Everlasting Video for the highlight!

” My Whole Heart For My Whole Life”
The love story of Jessica & JJ…
Jessica & JJ met in high school and knew of each other but have never really had the opportunity to get to know each other. From JJ’s perspective, he always admired Jessica from a distance and had always thought of her as the girl that is out of his league. It took about four years later when fate brought them back together. Both Jessica and JJ were pursuing their acting career in Los Angeles when they had the opportunity hang out because of a mutual friend. From there they became friends and fell in love.
The theme that they had for their wedding was “My Whole Heart for My Whole Life”. Their elegant vintage inspired wedding took place at the Santaluz Country Club in San Diego. Jessica wanted an vintage, elegant and romantic wedding infused with the down to earth textures of burlap and linen.
The ceremony was out on the lawn with a beautiful arch and side trellis adorned with a plethora of flowers in ivory and blush colors. The trellis was adorned in ivy with large blooms of blush florals. Guests arrived to a beautiful beverage station with fruit infused water and lemonade. They were given mason jars with grey and white straws. Each guest was handed a small hemp bag full of petals. Each bag was hand stamped with a custom logo for the couple’s wedding.
The reception was in a large tent that is located at Santaluz. The entire sides of the tent was completely draped in white organza. The couple also rented 3 large crystal chandeliers and had amber uplighting surrounding the tent. The tables were adorned with different types of linens by Wildflower Linens. Half the tables were in a french blue brocade linen with a white linen hemstitch napkin and the other tables in a white Russian linen and a Russian khaki napkin. Each guests had a menu inserted in the napkin with the couple’s logo on it and a plastic bookmark holder for their photobooth picture. Each plastic cover had baker’s string in white and grey tied to it with heart shaped cutout of poetry paper.
We at Wynn Austin Events really outdone ourselves this time with the gorgeous dessert wall full of vintage french plates. Jessica was inspired by the Viceroy Hotel in L.A. and she brought up the idea to us. It definitely was a challenge but we made it happen and it turned out amazing! We also created a large wall partition with a decoupage of vintage postcards. This couple was so romantic and it showed on their special day!
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with them on making this happen! I heart JJ & Jessica!
By the way, in case you haven’t noticed we rebranded! So please help a girl out and “LIKE” our Facebook Page!

Wynn

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Megan & Ryan for a year on planning their destination wedding! They are currently in San Diego, but all their family and friends were from out of town. What a treat they had in store for them! Their wedding was on a beautiful yacht, the California Spirit of San Diego Harbor Excursion. All the guests and wedding party were picked up from the dock at the Sheraton Hotel & Marina where everyone was staying. The weather was absolutely beautiful! For their wedding, we went with a very clean Nautical Chic design. It was a beautiful wedding with a enduring ceremony officiated by the groom’s stepfather. Please enjoy the photos of the beautiful bride & groom courtesy of Flavio Photography! Congratulations to Megan & Ryan!
