Location: Napa Valley, California | Theme: Rustic Autumnal Elegance
The Napa Valley Harvest
The brief from our clients, Elara and James, was “intimate warmth under an open sky.” They wanted to celebrate their union not just with their 120 guests, but with the landscape itself. We chose a private vineyard in St. Helena, timed perfectly with the golden hues of the late October harvest season. The color palette was drawn directly from the surroundings: deep terracotta, burnt orange, olive green, and rich Cabernet, accented with brushed gold.
The ceremony was not held on a lawn, but on a winding path *through* the vineyard rows, allowing guests to be fully immersed in the scent of ripe grapes and autumn leaves. The aisle ended at a 100-year-old oak tree, which we adorned not with heavy florals, but with thousands of delicate, suspended fairy lights that mimicked fireflies as the sun began to set. As Elara walked the path, a live string quartet, hidden amongst the vines, played a custom arrangement of their favorite song.
Dinner was served family-style on long, reclaimed wooden tables set directly between the vines. The tablescape was a testament to rustic elegance: raw linen runners, hand-thrown ceramic chargers, and arrangements of dried hops, pomegranates, and pheasant feathers. The lighting was the star; over 10,000 individual fairy lights were strung in a canopy overhead, creating a ceiling of stars that mirrored the clear Napa sky. The evening was a perfect blend of high-end culinary execution and the relaxed, soulful warmth of a family harvest.
“Wynn Austin didn’t just plan our wedding; they understood our story. Every detail felt like ‘us’. It was pure, effortless magic from start to finish.”

Location: Modern Art Museum, NYC | Theme: Minimalist Sculptural Gala
The Modern Art Gala
Our clients, Sarah and Michael, were not traditionalists. They were art collectors with a keen eye for modern design. Their request was a “non-wedding wedding”—an elegant, black-tie gala for 250 guests that felt more like a museum opening than a traditional reception. We secured the soaring white marble atrium of a modern art museum in New York City. The challenge was clear: how to make a vast, stark-white, and acoustically challenging space feel intimate and warm.
The design was an exercise in restraint. The color palette was a bold, monochromatic white and black, punctuated by a single, dramatic accent of deep emerald green. Instead of traditional floral centerpieces, our design team created “sculptural installations” for each table, using singular, architectural elements like giant monstera leaves, white orchids, and black calla lilies encased in clear acrylic blocks.
The guest experience was paramount. The event began with a “roaming ceremony.” Guests were given champagne upon arrival and invited to browse a private gallery exhibit. The vows took place on the grand central staircase, with guests watching from all levels. The reception featured food “installations” rather than a buffet, and a contemporary string quartet played modern orchestral covers. By embracing the venue’s sterile nature, we transformed it into a canvas, creating an evening of unparalleled sophistication and drama.
“Flawless. Wynn Austin’s team is composed of true artists. Every single detail was an art piece in itself. Our guests are still talking about it.”

Location: Lake Como, Italy | Theme: Old-World Romance
The Lake Como Villa
This was a three-day destination wedding for an intimate group of 60 guests. The goal was to create an immersive, luxurious experience that felt less like a single event and more like a timeless Italian holiday. We secured a private 17th-century villa on the shores of Lake Como, accessible only by boat.
Day one was a casual welcome dinner: an al-fresco pizza night in the villa’s olive grove, with a local folk band. Day two was the main event. The ceremony took place on the villa’s floating terrace, right on the water. The bride walked an aisle of scattered white rose petals, meeting the groom under a 10-foot arch of cascading white wisteria and local greenery. The reception was a formal, black-tie affair in the villa’s ballroom, with frescoed ceilings and crystal chandeliers. Dinner was a multi-course tasting menu paired with regional wines.
The grand finale was a surprise. As guests gathered on the terrace for cake, a spectacular fireworks display was launched from a barge on the lake. The couple made their grand exit in a vintage Riva boat, waving to their guests as they sped off into the night. Managing international vendors, complex logistics, and a multi-day itinerary was a massive undertaking, but it resulted in an unforgettable, cinematic experience.
“It was more than a wedding; it was a dream. Wynn Austin handled the immense challenge of an international wedding flawlessly. It was, without question, the most beautiful weekend of our lives.”
